In 2008 the Small Business
Development Center assisted with $1.3 million in
investments, prevented a $1 million business
failure, added 26 new jobs, assisted in the
start-up of 4 new businesses and held 216
counseling sessions with 81 current business
owners or entrepreneurs.
In addition, the SBDC arranged six training
classes for marketing, data security, how to
start a new business, writing a business plan
and understanding financial statements.
Twenty-two jobs were retained, 3 existing
businesses were purchased and the SBDC saw
$669,082 of increased sales and assisted with
the acquisition of $862,000 in assets.
