Washington DC Fly-In
A delegation of local business and community leaders annually
visit the nation's capitol as part of the Chamber’s Washington
D.C. Fly-In. While in Washington D.C., the delegation meets with
members of Congress, U.S. Senators, legislative staff and community
lobbyists. The Fly-In is held in the Spring. $1,000 registration.
Public Service Candidate School
Held in the fall prior to a local election, Public Service Candidate
School provides an opportunity for participants to be introduced
to, and gain a working knowledge of, the local political process.
Great Northwest Day At The Capitol
This event serves as an important public relations effort on behalf
of St. Joseph and the entire Northwest Missouri region. Join with
local residents, officials & business leaders as they meet
& mingle with our state legislators. Click

Signs of Success
Signs of Success is a workfoce development initiative that involves business, industrial, governmental, education, health service and social service groups. It is designed to instill character traits throughout the community. The initiative focuses on one character trait each month that is taught in the schools, promoted in the business environment and broacast to the community at large. Through this proactive approach, the hope is to develop and accentuate character traits essential to becoming productive members of the community and workplace.
Another Smart Move
“Another Smart Move” was created to promote the importance of lifelong learning in our communities. It demonstrates the relationship of higher education and skill to a higher standard of living. The ultimate goal of “Another Smart Move” is for the phrase to become synonymous with the importance and value of education, training, and character development in St. Joseph and the Northwest Missouri region.
